Dear Property Owner:

For purposes of exemptions granted pursuant to section 458 of the Real Property Tax Law, Renewal application is ONLY required IF the Disablity Rating HAS INCREASED OR DECREASED (changed).

As per RPTL§458, to retain the Veteran’s Disability exemption, you are required to submit your most recent letter of disability rating and we ask that you return the completed application along with the supporting documentation.

If you are the unremarried surviving spouse of a veteran, please complete the attached RP-458-a-dis exemption application, and attach written evidence, i.e., death certificate and Dependency and Indemnity Compensation Letter (DIC) from Veterans Affair office.

The deadline to apply for all exemptions is October 15, 2026.
